Big Day out 2011
Melbourne- Hot one day, Cold the next
Ahhh what a delighful day yesterday (Sunday) was.
The sun was out and the clouds where few far between. A perfect Sunday in my books.
What happened today>? The clouds came out and dumped on us! Around lunch time saw a fair amount of water fall over the city and drench lunch goers.
The little weather widget ------------------------------------------->
Is currently saying 11 and cloudy. Im not a fan.
Let hope the rest of the week turns out nicer, weather wise.
Oh and how can I forget the Afl grand final Part 2, coming to another Saturday near you.

AFL Grand final 2010
Wow its all most here.
Thats right, the AFL grand final. You can taste the game in the air.
The MAGGIES vs the SAINTTERRRRRS.
An all Victorian line up this year, which means that the VB's will be flowing through the veins of most Melbournians tomorrow. What a delicious drink it is.
My first impressions were that I wanted the St Kilda boys to get up, but under 24 hours until the game, me vote has swung. I think its the enthusiasm I've seen in the streets of Melbourne from the Collingwood supporters. Today I saw a white Commodore with black tape on it for stripes, I lol'ed and my vote had swung.
The grand final got me thinking, what does that one day in September mean to us living in Melbourne?
Does it mean more trade for the bars and pubs in Richmond? Headaches for the Police who have to deal with drunk wankers? (Who i think do a great job btw)
Personally , it means catching up with my mates on a Saturday arvo, and have a few beers and a few laughs. Which, does not happen quite enough. Work/ sleeep/ weekly tasks usually get done on my Saturdays, but tomorrow, that all gets thrown out the window.
And I feel like that happens across Melbourne, and even in the wider country. So in that sense, the Alf take on more then just the climax of the football season. It (and this might sound lame) but the day unites us , allows us to all share the day, have fun and enjoy a great spectacle.
Isnt that what life is all about?
And in that sense, what a great day for all of us.
So if your reading this, and not sure what to do tomorrow. Find some mates, get the BBQ going, get a few slabs on ice and enjoy the day. Cant find anyone? Get to your local pub, plenty of friends to be made there.
Anyways, GO THE PIES!
Have a great Weekend Melbourne, look after each other, dont get too drunk, and have some good times!

Afl grand final 2010
Chris Judd wins Brownlow
Well done to Calton Caption Chris Judd who took home last night the prized AFL brownlow medal.
Dane Swan , the favourite leading up to the count, was beaten with a round to go.
Good work Judd, another AFL champion.
Ill train passenger at newmarket
Wow, its amazing how many people can be affected by 1 person.
This morning thousands on the cragibourne line were suck due to someone being ill on the train and having the train operators call in an ambulance.
My question is, if your feeling ill enough , why are you on the train?
The train ride from the furthest stop fein newmarket would be about half an hour. Did this passenger hop on the train feeling fine, then half an hour need medical attention?
These are the questions I ask, sitting, waiting for my train to move. And contemplating calling my boss to let then know I'll be late.
Hopefully your start to the week is better then mine
Collingwood vs St Kilda. Grand Final Football
Its coming. The teams are now both locked in.
Collingwood Vs St Kilda
The Magpies Vs The Saints!
An all Victorian line up will head the 2010 AFL football grand final this year, and I couldn't be more excited. The AFL grandfinal seems to bring out the best mood in everyone and, Melbourne turns into a Football crazy city. And good on us, we LOVE football!
The St Kilda boys defeated the Western Bulldogs tonight convincingly, earning their place in the up and coming grand final.
Personally I cant stand all you Magpie supporters! I hope the Sainters get up and take home the cup!
Shane Crawford – Adelaide To Melbourne
WHAT A CHAMPION. Shane Crawford
I take my hat off to this guy.
Almost 800 kms on foot from Adelaide to Melbourne to raise money and awareness for Brest Cancer. All done in 10 days, running 80 kms a day. What an unbelievable effort. It really blows my mind. I wouldnt drive 80 kms in a week. This guy ran that distance 80 kms, for 10 days strait. What a champion.
And what a cause to do it for. To raise money and awareness for the Breast Cancer network of Australia, also known as "The Pink Ladies". Almost raising half a million in donations along the way. Amazing.
The story told on the Footy Show last night was really inspiring. He told of his efforts, the trials and tribulations, and the people he met along the way. It was very moving to say the least. Shane is generally a playful and relaxed character on the Footy Show, but last night I think he really showed a side of himself that shows his true persona, what he is like when the cameras were off.
If you were moved by Shane Crawfords effort, please consider donating to the cause. Links will be at the bottom of this post for - The Breast Cancer Network. From there donations can be made.
From all of us at Exclusively Melbourne, We would like to congratulate mr Shane Crawford, on his amazing effort and achievement. An inspiration to us all and an icon to fight the good fight.

Brendan Fevola – legand
Brendon Fevola, I like him.
Leading from the great response from this blogs write up on Melbourne's adopted son, Ben Cousins regarding his show "Such is life" , we thought we would open the doors to express our intrest in one of Melbournes beloved favourate football stars, Mr Brendan Fevola, or as we know him, FEV.
Playing most of his professional career in the blue jumper with the Calton Football club, Fev was shown the door after a few incidents such as urinating in a public place, carrying around dildo's on Mad Monday and finally putting the nail in the coffin when he was quite drunk, at the 2009 Brownlow medal. He was followed by the channel 9 Footy Show cameras, and his drunken antics were caught on camera for the world to see.
So now my opinion. I think being drunk in a public place is wrong. It sets the wrong example for kids and all that ideology. But come on, that was comedy gold. I dont condone his actions one bit. Not 1 bit. But it was funny. Obvuislly that incident, was not good for the Calton Football club , or Fev's career.
Now, his other "incidents". And they all seem to have the same kind of characteristics. Funny, but bad for himself and his old club. And not the way a football superstar should behave.
Taking a leak Prahran, after being out at some nightclubs. Funny, but inappropriate.
Carrying around a huge dildo on mad Monday, funny, but inappropriate.
Leaking a photo of Lara Bingle with her cannons out. Funny, but inappropriate.
The list goes on, and on.
And now the latest incident with Fev, after the move to the Brisbane Lions. After all is said and done, this has to be the biggest stuff up the football player has done.
Not only is the ink still wet from the last time the media wrote about him, he goes and does another inappropriate act. If Fev loves being in the papers, you have to hand it to him for his persistence.
Apparently exposing himself to a mature woman after he suggested that going with him would get her kids some free football coaching, or something along those lines.
Now it must be said that Fev is strongly denying these claims, and he has the support of his team mates who were with him the night the incident occurred.
But geeze Fev, if its true, that's quite a despicable thing to do. And again. Funny as hell. I was personally lucky enough to hear a few comedians joke about it on the weekend, and they had the room in tears with laughter. It seems the more stupid his antics get, the more material he hands comedians for their routines. I can imagine Mick Molloy rubbing his hands together in front of the tv when watching another story of Fev doing something stupid.
Personally I think and hope he didnt do it, and his latest indiscretion is just some silly woman's story to get her 5 minutes of fame. The news around the incident seems now more focused on if he is guilty or not, rather then the incident itself.
Lets hope he can overcome this latest hurdle, calm down a bit, and get a game next football season. I think he is a champ, and his antics always amuse me. Every time I hear something about this guy I think he is a fool, but then laugh out loud about what he's done and I end up thinking he is a champ. An Aussie larrikin, who dominates on the pitch. Sounds like a good bloke to me.
Go Fevola!

Brendon Fevola- An Aussie larrikin, who dominates on the pitch.
