Derby Day Weather

OK , I know, this will be the 3rd post in a row about the poor weather and the Spring Racing Carnival.

BUT, I thought that it was news worthy to let everyone know that;

On Saturday, it will rain a MONTH's worth of water.

Unfortunately for Derby Dat goers and the unfortunate "Trick or Treater's" out there, its going to be a wash out. It'll be raining the proverbial cats and dogs all day.

And the weather news keeps getting better with the indication that Melbourne Cup day will also be a wash out.

It just contributes to my idea of mother nature not liking the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival.

Hope you all stay dry and win big this weekend.

If you have any good tips for Derby day and the Melbourne cup, be sure to let us know!!!!

  • Mark Ronson & The Business Intl
  • MGMT
  • Ke$ha
  • The Presets
  • Leftfield

Woman stabbed at Airport West

A story coming from Melbourne's west yesterday, a woman has been stabbed in the car park of the Airport West shopping center.

The victim has been reported to be in a life threating state, who owns and run's a store at the shopping center.

Unconfirmed comments suggest that the stabbing was over a work dispute, possibly the sacking of a staff member from the owners store. No confirmations of this yet.

Two people, a woman aged in her 20's and a male accomplice ages 37 have both been arrested near Sunshine yesterday.

But seriously, what is the world coming to.  If the rumors are correct and this poor woman got stabbed and put in a life threating situation because she sacked an employee,  then it seems like the employee is definatly showing signs that they possibly were not the best people to have working for you.

Lets all hope that the victim has a full recovery, and the criminals in question get brought to justice.

Shane Crawford – Adelaide To Melbourne

WHAT A CHAMPION. Shane Crawford

I take my hat off to this guy.

Almost 800 kms on foot from Adelaide to Melbourne to raise money and awareness for Brest Cancer. All done in 10 days, running 80 kms a day. What an unbelievable effort. It really blows my mind. I wouldnt drive 80 kms in a week. This guy ran that distance 80 kms, for 10 days strait. What a champion.

And what a cause to do it for. To raise money and awareness for the Breast Cancer network of Australia, also known as "The Pink Ladies". Almost raising half a million in donations along the way. Amazing.

The story told on the Footy Show last night was really inspiring. He told of his efforts, the trials and tribulations, and the people he met along the way. It was very moving to say the least.  Shane is generally a playful and relaxed character on the Footy Show,  but last night I think he really showed a side of himself that shows his true persona, what he is like when the cameras were off.

If you were moved by Shane Crawfords effort, please consider donating to the cause. Links will be at the bottom of this post for  - The Breast Cancer Network.  From there donations can be made.

From all of us at Exclusively Melbourne, We would like to congratulate mr Shane Crawford, on his amazing effort and achievement.  An inspiration to us all and an icon to fight the good fight.

Brendan Fevola – legand

Brendon Fevola, I like him.

Leading from the great response from this blogs write up on Melbourne's adopted son,  Ben Cousins regarding his show "Such is life" , we thought we would open the doors to express our intrest in one of Melbournes beloved favourate football stars, Mr Brendan Fevola, or as we know him, FEV.

Playing most of his professional career in the blue jumper with the Calton Football club, Fev was shown the door after a few incidents such as urinating in  a public place, carrying around dildo's on Mad Monday and finally putting the nail in the coffin when he was quite drunk, at the 2009 Brownlow medal. He was followed by the channel 9 Footy Show cameras, and his drunken antics were caught on camera for the world to see.

So now my opinion. I think being drunk in a public place is wrong. It sets the wrong example for kids and all that ideology.  But come on, that was comedy gold.  I dont condone his actions one bit. Not 1 bit. But it was funny. Obvuislly that incident, was not good for the Calton Football club , or Fev's career.

Now, his other "incidents". And they all seem to have the same kind of characteristics. Funny, but bad for himself and his old club. And not the way a football superstar should behave.

Taking a leak Prahran, after being out at some nightclubs. Funny, but inappropriate.

Carrying around a huge dildo on mad Monday, funny, but inappropriate.

Leaking a photo of Lara Bingle with her cannons out. Funny, but inappropriate.

The list goes on, and on.

And now the latest incident with Fev, after the move to the Brisbane Lions. After all is said and done, this has to be the biggest stuff up the football player has done.

Not only is the ink still wet from the last time the media wrote about him, he goes and does another inappropriate act. If Fev loves being in the papers, you have to hand it to him for his persistence.

Apparently exposing himself to a mature woman after he suggested that going with him would get her kids some free football coaching, or something along those lines.

Now it must be said that Fev is strongly denying these claims, and he has the support of his team mates who were with him the night the incident occurred.

But geeze Fev, if its true, that's quite a despicable thing to do. And again. Funny as hell. I was personally lucky enough to hear a few comedians joke about it on the weekend, and they had the room in tears with laughter. It seems the more stupid his antics get, the more material he hands comedians for their routines. I can imagine Mick Molloy rubbing his hands together in front of the tv when watching another story of Fev doing something stupid.

Personally I think and hope he didnt do it, and his latest indiscretion is just some silly woman's story to get her 5 minutes of fame. The news around the incident seems now more focused on if he is guilty or not, rather then the incident itself.

Lets hope he can overcome this latest hurdle, calm down a bit, and get a game next football season. I think he is a champ, and his antics always amuse me. Every time I hear something about this guy I think he is a fool, but then laugh out loud about what he's done and I end up thinking he is a champ. An Aussie larrikin, who dominates on the pitch.  Sounds like a good bloke to me.

Go Fevola!

Labour wins election

So so so so,

Miss Julia Gillard has scrapped in. The independents have swung their power her way. Well, what does this mean for you and me?

Well personally, I dont see anything special to come from this government. And the fact that the country could not make a clear decision on who would lead  us, tells me that a fair amount of voters did not want this party in power. And therefore may possibly feel the same way I do about the Labour government. No Faith.

The Liberals put up  a good fight. Hats off to them.

As a new day comes close to ending, and a new one comes to a start, lets hope that the "elected" government can prove us all wrong and to some great things with the power which they now have.

Labour wins

Hey Julia Gillard, fix Melbourne's train network - : )
