Parklife 2011 Lineup Melbourne
Park Life is once again hitting Melbourne shores as one of the first festivals of the season.
Generally a hit or miss with the weather being so early in the year. But with Melbourne's weather, its any ones guess.
I have personally been to 3 parklife events, 2 were nice, 1 was a wash out. I am not sure if im going to this one.
It is set forSaturday 24th September - Melbourne at Sydney Myer Music Bowl , which I beleive is a new venue,
as the event is usually held near Birrung Mar, not so for this year.
Future Entertainemnt have run these events in the past, and usually always have VERY negative feedback.
- Generally consisting of - LONG lines due to not enough Staff, toilets, food outlets, drink outlets. (Future Ent running the event as cheap as possible)
- Headline acts clashing
- Poor information
- STUPID DRINK TICKETS
- overcrowding( Future Ent trying to squeeze evey last dollar out of the event)
Lets hope this year's event is better, but i HIGHLY dbout it. For the reasons above I will most likly not attent this year. But i am torn due to the lineup being quite good-
The line up consists of;
The Gossip
Lykke Li
Santigold
Death From Above 1979
Duck Sauce
Katy B
The Naked & Famous
Crystal Fighters
Example
Digitalism
Adrian Lux
The Streets
Simian Mobile Disco
Magnetic Man
Nero
SebastiAn
Diplo
Mstrkrft
Sebastien Tellier
Little Dragon
Gold Fields
Mylo
Wolfgang Gartner
Joker & MC Nomad
Feed Me
Tensnake
Kimbra
The Aston Shuffle
Flux Pavilion
Yacht Club DJs
Harvard Bass
And here lies the problem.... the lineup is epic. Soooo many good artists there. But how many will clash as per usuall?
Damn you Future Entertainment.... either make the event crap, or awesome...... not in the middle!

GBH is disgusting and its killing you
GHB is disgusting and its killing you. FACT.
Melbourne is fast becoming known for being the GBH captial of Austrlia. And it makes me sick in my stomache.
Why? GBH is extreamly dangeroius, extreamly addictive, and you can easily overdose on it. The difference of having a good time to overdosing and possibly killing yourself is a matter of a few ml. FACT.
GBH is made using photo developing chemicals and users drink this substance. I cant beleive so many young people in Melbourne are drawn to this drug. It makes me feel sick that I share the same city as you people.
Here is a link to a video which shows a young person oding on the side of the road in queen st Melbourne. It looks like the video is shot close to a popular nightclub called Tramp.
Keep off this poison guys, you really dont know what is in it, you dont know how close you are to oding , and its really not worth it!!
End rant

I LOVE Melbourne
Being such a beautiful weekend and day today, it has filled me with love for this city once again, and I thought I would share why.
So here are 5 Reasons. why I LOVE Melbourne.
1# Coffee.
Melbourne has the best coffee. Hands down! Lygon st, Bridge Rd, Swan St to Keilor Rd. Its alllll good. My Fav is at Cheeky Monkey, Swan st Richmond. A cup of hot joe from this place just makes me feel good.
2# Beaches.
The Beaches around Melbourne are awesome. St Kilda, Porsea, Dromana. On a beatuiful day, nothing can be beat. Here is a photo taken at Dromana yesteray.

#3 Food.
Melbourne has some great places to eat. A few will try their best to rip you off. These places generally are around the Crown Casino/ Southbank area from my experence. But head to Lygon St, Swan st, Johnston st (Jims Tavern) and you'll get a awesome meal at a reasonable price
#4 Nightclubs / Bars
Melbourne has some awesome nightclubs. Sorry Grandma, 161, Deluxe, Calton Club, Cookie the list goes on for weeks. There seems that for ever person in Melbourne, there are 5 bars / clubs that want you to drink at them. So we seem a bit spoilt for choice. Love that.
#People
The people around town are awesome. Laid back, friendly, polite. There are of corse some that are not, but I find that people around Melbourne are nice pleasant people and will generally help you out.
So there you have it.
5 hot resons to like this place we call home.

Interview with a Collingwood supporter
So as an unexpected surprise, I had the displeasure of speaking to a hungover Collingwood supporter, and ask him if I could interview him for this blog.
Let me set the scene up for you. Hopping on the train this morning , I sat on the only seat available , and after sitting down , it was quite clear why that seat was vacant. "Barry" as we will call him had been on a 3 day bender , since Saturday. I was seeing him, in the morning after the 3rd day, un-showered, unchanged, reaking of beer and a smell that can only be described as "wrong".
Barry looks around 40 years old, huge handlebar moustache, weathered face, and wearing black and white from top to toe. This guy, to me is the stereotype Collingwood supporter.
Barry: The other boys are still going. *burp*
Me: How long have you been at it, how many beers have you done since you started?
Barry: Mate, started Saturday morrrrnin, and couldnt tell ya how many beers we 'ad. But a f*ckin lot.
Me: Have you slept yet chief? It doesn't look like it.
Barry: Yeah mate, I slept, it was either at Jhonnos or at the pub, cant remember.
Me: Wow, you must really love Collingwood.
Barry: Oh yeah mate, I was *burp* born a Pie, I'll die a Pie, f*ckin loves those c*&%'s. 2010 Premiers, ohhh yeah mate, go the pies!!!
At this stage, Barry yells, "HOT PIES, COLD SAINTS" , and the whole carriage has eyes on Barry and myself.
I really couldn't handle the smell or the attention any more so I thanked Barry for his time, and got off the train 5 stops before my destination , and opted to jump on the next train.
Good on you Barry, get some sleep, and shower a few times.
I am glad that Colllingwood only win a flag once or twice a lifetime. God help us if they were consistantly on the top, god help Melbourne.

Shane Crawford – Adelaide To Melbourne
WHAT A CHAMPION. Shane Crawford
I take my hat off to this guy.
Almost 800 kms on foot from Adelaide to Melbourne to raise money and awareness for Brest Cancer. All done in 10 days, running 80 kms a day. What an unbelievable effort. It really blows my mind. I wouldnt drive 80 kms in a week. This guy ran that distance 80 kms, for 10 days strait. What a champion.
And what a cause to do it for. To raise money and awareness for the Breast Cancer network of Australia, also known as "The Pink Ladies". Almost raising half a million in donations along the way. Amazing.
The story told on the Footy Show last night was really inspiring. He told of his efforts, the trials and tribulations, and the people he met along the way. It was very moving to say the least. Shane is generally a playful and relaxed character on the Footy Show, but last night I think he really showed a side of himself that shows his true persona, what he is like when the cameras were off.
If you were moved by Shane Crawfords effort, please consider donating to the cause. Links will be at the bottom of this post for - The Breast Cancer Network. From there donations can be made.
From all of us at Exclusively Melbourne, We would like to congratulate mr Shane Crawford, on his amazing effort and achievement. An inspiration to us all and an icon to fight the good fight.
Shane Crawford, You absolute Champion

Labour wins election
So so so so,
Miss Julia Gillard has scrapped in. The independents have swung their power her way. Well, what does this mean for you and me?
Well personally, I dont see anything special to come from this government. And the fact that the country could not make a clear decision on who would lead us, tells me that a fair amount of voters did not want this party in power. And therefore may possibly feel the same way I do about the Labour government. No Faith.
The Liberals put up a good fight. Hats off to them.
As a new day comes close to ending, and a new one comes to a start, lets hope that the "elected" government can prove us all wrong and to some great things with the power which they now have.

Labour wins
Hey Julia Gillard, fix Melbourne's train network - : )
The Melbourne Footy Show #2
Oh how I have grown to love the footy show. I used to loathe it, it just didnt seem funny and all the "jokes" seemed to be of guest throwing water or pies at Sam Newman to get a cheap laugh. I think Sam plays a crucial part to bring in the lol's.
Since then, I think the humor is a little better quality and the rest of the show seems to be just a good watch.
Maybe its because we all know that tomorrow is Friday , and Fridays mean the weekend is almost here. Bring on the weekend.
A Melbourne icon to say the least. Thursdays are just better because of the footy show.
Crown casino melboure
Crown casino Melbourne, the place to have a drink, see some fire shoot out of some poles, and most of all - loose all your cash.
Yes that place we all end up after a few drinks and always before the rent is due. If I write a good review, I will take donations from mr Packer. Let's just call a gamble that has poor odds.

After work drinks
After work drinks on a Friday , by the looks of it at the local watering hole, is embraced by every worker in Melbourne. Melbourne, drink it in, it always goes down smooth.
