Oaks day tomorrow

So so so.
The cup has ran, but by no means is that the end of the spring racing carnival.
Tomorrow sees the running of more races, which means more alcohol and gambling for our town.
Some of those unfortunate enough, will be working. I will be part of the few thousand drinking their thursday away.

Hope you guts have fun. If you have any hot tips. Please feel free to let us know!

Derby Day Weather

OK , I know, this will be the 3rd post in a row about the poor weather and the Spring Racing Carnival.

BUT, I thought that it was news worthy to let everyone know that;

On Saturday, it will rain a MONTH's worth of water.

Unfortunately for Derby Dat goers and the unfortunate "Trick or Treater's" out there, its going to be a wash out. It'll be raining the proverbial cats and dogs all day.

And the weather news keeps getting better with the indication that Melbourne Cup day will also be a wash out.

It just contributes to my idea of mother nature not liking the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival.

Hope you all stay dry and win big this weekend.

If you have any good tips for Derby day and the Melbourne cup, be sure to let us know!!!!

Weather and the races

So the weather in Melbourne has been glorious the last two weeks. Absolutely beautiful.

But it seems that on th days where there is a hourse racing meet for the Spring carnival, it rains!

Last week we had the Cox Plate, beautiful weather all week, then on Saturday, bang - it rains!

And this week with Derby Day soon approaching, Mr Weather man has suggested that it will rain this Saturday. The weather this week has been awesome, with a nice hot day forecast-ed  for Friday. And unfortunately the next day, we are expecting 17 degrees with showers =(

It got me thinking that mother nature does not like the Melbourne Spring racing carnival! Why does she think so?

  • She does not like humans riding and whipping horses.

There you have it people, your read it here first!

So, does anyone want to buy a Ticket to the races this Saturday?

Cox Plate 2010 Moone Vally

So the spring racing carnival has swung into action , and this week we have the Moone Vally Cox Plate.

The Cox Plate is my personal favourate racing day and I try to attend each year. Basically because I dont live too far from the action.

The weather forecast is looking quite dim. 18 with showers. Lets hope the forecast changes closer to the date 23rd of October.

The after party is at none other the DELUXE BAR, on Mt Alexander rd. Mik Fox is djing there so Im sure it'll be a huge night of tunes and drinks.

See you all at the races!

Future Music Festival Lineup Melbourne

Thats right kids, the FMF (Future Music Festival) has been released.

The Future Music Festival sites seems like it is struggling with the demand so , At Exclusively, we got yo' back.

A special note goes out to the chemical brothers, making another trip down under. They were at FMF in 2009 (if i remember correctly) and had a quite a good performance, well, for the first half. (The 2nd half was a bit boring imo)

  • The Chemical Brothers
  • Dizzee Rascal
  • Pendulum
  • Mark Ronson & The Business Intl
  • MGMT
  • Ke$ha
  • The Presets
  • Leftfield
  • Art vs Science
  • Steve Angello
  • Richie Hawtin pres. Plastikman
  • Sven Vath
  • Sander Van Doorn
  • Steve Aoki
  • Loco Dice
  • Cosmic Gate
  • Etienne De Crecy
  • Don Diablo
  • Zane Lowe
  • The Subs
  • Sound of Stereo
  • James Holroyd

There you have it. Im not sure if I will attend , however the lineup looks quite solid.

Future Entertainment have a tendency to tell their headline acts to "chill the crowd" before the events finishes.

Post up if your thinking about attending, or who you would like to see at the 2011 Fututre Music festival - Melbourne.

Woman stabbed at Airport West

A story coming from Melbourne's west yesterday, a woman has been stabbed in the car park of the Airport West shopping center.

The victim has been reported to be in a life threating state, who owns and run's a store at the shopping center.

Unconfirmed comments suggest that the stabbing was over a work dispute, possibly the sacking of a staff member from the owners store. No confirmations of this yet.

Two people, a woman aged in her 20's and a male accomplice ages 37 have both been arrested near Sunshine yesterday.

But seriously, what is the world coming to.  If the rumors are correct and this poor woman got stabbed and put in a life threating situation because she sacked an employee,  then it seems like the employee is definatly showing signs that they possibly were not the best people to have working for you.

Lets all hope that the victim has a full recovery, and the criminals in question get brought to justice.

Summer is in the air

What a beautiful day we were treated to yesterday. Oh and today seems just as nice.

Its days like this that make this city one of the best places to be in the world.

Of course the trains are running late and are all full, which brings some question the idea that they only run late on wet days. So its wet and nice days they run late. Basically, any day you don't want to be stuck against someone in a train, that's when you know ithe train is going to be 10 late.

Anyways, enough grovelling about late trains, the weather today is set to hit a delightful 24°. That's almost beach weather in some peoples books. Not mine, but its getting there.

My top tip for the day, enjoy the weather. Have a sandwich outside, go for a walk. Anything to get you outside.
Because around here, the weather can change just as much as the train time table.

=)
